Christmas in Vigan

So this Christmas other than what candy and the speakers I got in the package from home, I got a broken yo-yo from my house mate Elder Miller and foot spray for stinky feet...lets just say we have been in the same house\ since August. haha  It was a busy Christmas...the 24th we worked 8-12, 1-5 then lock down! Christmas....8-12, 1-8 pm grabe and a ton of food...sooo full!! Elder Robles made a makeshift grill....rice cooker and a grill top. haha so nice! and cooked some bomb food!! Then the 26th I got to see my wonderful family, side note..so the white book says 40 mins max sooo yeah any way!!! but it was way fun for sure!!!

One  thing that the Philippines does is celebrate for like 7 days straight..it's been fireworks like every night! They are so loud and the kids have these things that look like a potato cannon, but the just go boom and they are way loud... sometimes they let us make them pop!! It's so fun!!

I will admit I have had some foods that make my tummy "go boom in the night" like street food!! but its only the bbq. haha  The members fed us so much on Christmas!! my tummy was soo full and had soooooo much Pepsi

I suck at writing any way this week was crazy!! but guess what...Elder Robles got transferred.

Mahriap talaga but my companion's name is a name that means the world to me but in no relation (that we know of ) it's Elder Hickey! he super cool. taga utah po siya

OK so this week is really weird. I'm sorry. But anyway I am now the senior companion...to the district leader....I got a little stress going now!! but I know that I can do it!!!

It's an amazing time here and I'm glad to be staying in Vigan!!!

well now I'm done!!! hahaha sorry!!

This week

This week was crazy good. we went to Laoag for Christmas conference and I learned a lot....new standards and bars have been set......

We are now to get 50 lessons a week...and 2 baptized a week....soo that's next year!!

Anyway I think I might just answer questions....then talk a little about this week...

Q: How do you get around?
A: I don't have a bike, I walk..or ride a tryc or bus

Q: Do you eat?
A: Yes, my comp is a great cook but has become lazy, makes us cook...I can now no longer say that I can't cook cause I can...so that's cool

Q: How are you?
A: I'm tired...there no such thing as being fully rested. haha I learned that this week.. I have bags under my eyes..but hey what do you expect, I'm hastening the work...that's not easy stuff man

OK now my week..
Well this week we went to Laoag and our DL was like we have to leave early..little did he know Partas could get us there in an hour....so yeah we were super early haha

We had a devotional with president about the 50 lessons. hahaha It was so great. Then we did an amazing race! haha we were on teams, had to run around get things and all that, haha Soo much running. My team won of course.. I met my mission family..my granddad and so on haha

So yesterday we told our elders quorum about the stuff....so the afternoon we got 4 fellow shippers and went on splits...Yes I led....I taught and talked and it was awesome!!!! After that we met back up went on a 15 min tryc ride to the south China sea. Taught a lesson with 4 fellowshippers to a family......what an experience...soooo

I might just send pictures to describe life..

This Week

So this week was just dandy.

Tuesday we went to Allen and family's house...We waited for Tatay to get home with his son..and remember his son was very sick. So we got there and we saw him and his son come on a bike! The son was just back to his old crazy silly self! Thank you so much! is all I said in my prayer that night!

Wednesday was exchange day...we got punted 3 times before 9:30 ahhhhh but any way. We went finding and found some great people and walked forever, haha, but I learned a lot from a man going home in two weeks. He is the best and an Aussie/Penoy. haha The afternoon we had a fellowshipper who has a tryc and a huge help. We got punted from one appointment and he told me we should go to Padilia..I knew why... they are teen girls; he's a teen boy..but after they told us that we should go to Rabong house, a woman who's husband had a stroke. We visited and talked, taught and felt the spirit....great house so kind to us too..... The great thing is my DL said "yah, you can definitely lead an area." Yes, job well done, Elder Tanner.

Thursday and Friday we taught....this week was not busy because we got punted...but we did treat our fellowshipper Brother Jerome to Miranda, yummy 7-11

Saturday...lets call it punt day..... we had Jolly Bee for lunch.... I love that place....yah, that was my highlight......

I'm sorry this week was so hard.....not a lot just a lot of punts

this week was crazy!

So I really don't feel like going day to day but I will cover Tuesday, Saturday and Wednesday. The rest I will just talk about.

To start Mom, Dad the office is delivering packages so I should have my stuff with in the week!

OK so Tuesday Elder Robles and I had the opportunity to work with Brother Paul and that was way way fun! We also have a brother in the branch let us borrow his tryc! So we head out but something happened...the tire broke, we had to go get it fixed...ahhh than to make things harder the entire mission got a text from president.... to teach 10 lessons (the usual goal is 6) so we taught the best we could in the morning. After we came home we made a large plan.....at the end of the day we had only 7....but we felt that our lessons were very quality.

The brother we borrow the tryc from his name is Brother Rapocon who is a huge help and also is very nice to us, feeds us and he has an awesome family. He is one of the more wealthy members. He runs a Pepsi distribution center and has a nice house and a car....that's big here...but his heart is the size of a elephants he is so willing to serve...he just took in two youth of the branch, who got kicked out, who don't have a family...they just have each other. But that's a story I'll tell some of you in two years. Every time we go there the wife says "Elders here take a Gatorade you look tired" haha big heart! They always give us Mirenda (snacks) that is the best and from the streets (the only time I'm allowed to have street food)

WEDNESDAY oh man....so Elder Miller and I went on exchanges. This was a hard day for me because we are in a new area. Elder Miller is amazing and Magaling at Tagalog like Talaga. Anyway the morning was very just finding oriented, but the afternoon we got punted twice before 5:30...We started the day at 5... blast. so what we did is we were given a name to find. We went to Rapacon we told him the name a Barangy. His wife gave us Gatorade. He opened the window, called two of his workers and they took us there. haha It was like being in a movie! After that and after getting lost, we kinda got lost.....We went to the Dupaya family and taught a lesson about forgiveness. It was the best!

Saturday. WAS Epic haha We Taught 7 lessons and all of them were very great..on a sad note..Brother Allen's son has very bad asthma and when we taught him last night they brought him out...it pained me to see him... the boy just laid there. The family was just so down. We taught about faith and hope and it hopefully helped...They were willing to let us bless him...I hope he does better. We love the family and the son. If you seen him jumping around then last night he just didn't move...ahhhh. So we got home and Elder Robles said "Elder you'll remember this night forever" oh man I thought I was in trouble. He made me count up the lessons (keep in mind the week's goal is 32) I counted them recounted and recounted again.....31 lessons...ahhhhhhh

Well that was all this week.....If you think this was too short let me know

-With Love Elder Tanner

P.S We went to the zoo and I touched a tiger and held a rat and sugar glider today.

This Week Was Wow

OK first I'd like to apologize but my keyboard sucks so it's hard to type!

Anyway I'll just start on what I've done today than go back last Monday. Well this morning we went to a member's house... well shop to eat lunch. He owns the Pepsi distribution so yes we get a ton of it. But they are great people and they fed us COW BRAIN soup this morning mmmmm mas masarap with rice of course and Pepsi and Mountain Dew yummy.

Last Monday after p-day Elder Robles and I went to two appointments and the first one was a family with 4 girls, one son, mom and dad...but they are all soo close and that's all that matters. They are a part-member recent convert investigator family but they are all so cool and they are another family teaching me Tagalog haha so much fun! haha but that's all we could teach!

Tuesday morning we went out to a new area names Ayusan Notre and that was fun looking for people. We worked with Brother Paul who was a huge help this week! We then went to the doctor and I got my shoulder checked out....I'm fine; don't worry.... anyway after studies we went to Brother Allen's and that of course was an awesome lesson.  Talked about through Christ we can become clean (faith). So awesome they are really growing and that's awesome!!!

Wednesday morning we did some finding and that consisted of sooooo much walking hahaha and no tryc but that's OK. We taught some good lessons, got more familiar with the area..we went to a recent convert's house name Brother Paulo his tatay brought out some sandwiches. They were just two slices of bread and mayo....soooooo good!!!! by the way the area was San Vicente so that's cool. This day was sooooo hot!!! I have no idea why it was the worst!!! hahaha but you can't slow on work cause it's a little hot! That night we taught a less-active who is funny because it was "elders I know but...." haha silly tatay haha. Then we taught the Dupaya family they have a daughter that's six named Shin..sounds pretty in a Tagalog accent. We taught family prayer and our goal is to get them to the temple! They are so amazing and so fun to be around hahaha. The daughter is the one that stole my planner and filled in all the key indicator boxes haha. She is silly. The other day Elder Robles was praying and she came up and stood next to him and just stared.

Turkey day! haha we taught the Abong family (Allen) about pagsisi or repentance amazing lesson!! again! hahaha but they have three daughters who are the coolest and all under the age of thirteen, but they are so silly! So a wise man named Clark Tanner told me to splurge on dinner so we got chookes togo (chicken) and durongs (rolls) and pop we set the table made mash taters and ate like kings...so worth it!

Friday we taught the Dupaya family and the Corpuz family (our branch president) and got purple potatoes yumm!

Saturday wow all our lessons had a member present and we got 7 new investigators...tatay Corpuz told us don't plan for the morning I will show you around. We had a powerful lesson with the gospel principals teacher's daughter and she came to church! sweet haha. Then we taught a loud but good lesson this family have a son who called me NBA and put on my shoes. He has the prettiest blue eyes like bright blue...his name you ask blue eyes...Elder Robles thought  it was the coolest thing ever...it actually scared me...Then we taught two more lessons that day but they were just getting to know them..that night we taught. After the sisters had a baptism we taught Paulo the law of chastity...I did...acceptable haha and then with our three fellowshippers we taught Allen of course a killer lesson!

Sunday....well let me just say me and Elder Robles are the poster children of the zone for investigators at church this week we had 6 hoping for 7 but one of Allen's daughters was sick. But that's OK haha. We then went to teach Allen's family and went to the Corpuz house for dinner. It was storming and half way through the lesson the power went out. Luckily for me I carry a flash light because the Allen's house is hard to find in the dark. So we finished it with that then the power came on to eat dinner and we rode in a car home!!! That's so nice!! hahaha Well that's my week! I hope you all had a good week! love you all. Thanks

This week was wacky!!

Monday was a good rest of the p-day and we went to our good friend Tatay Esposo who was given the Melchizedek priesthood Sunday!! and after that we took him to go with us to the Salis' family to teach an awesome lesson. The Salis' family is part-member meaning half the family is member! so that was a solid lesson!

Tuesday we started the day with a move! we moved the sisters to our area that's why we made the switch....but I'll get to that...... anyway we then went to go to the church and had our fellowshippers Brother Paul (who is getting to be closer with us and willing to teach) and Brother Mark. After that we went to Tatay Esposo again.....this is where things get hard...we get to is house and he has a window and we saw we was doing something and then he turned his head and we saw a cigarette....why Tatay why! We then knocked and he hid the evidence... we were just shocked....a man that just had the Melchizedek priesthood overcome by Satan's grasp! He than wanted to come teaching with us....but we had to say no....ahhh!!! Anyway we then went to the Ushanin who is an amazing family. The other day we tried to go they were at the hospital...I'll get to that..

Wednesday morning we got a text from \Brother Allen and he asked why we hadn't been there... this was good and bad for us. Good because he likes us there and bad because we were so busy last week we hadn't been there in a week! But we taught him and it was a great lesson!!! We then went and taught two more lessons that morning......so we had four lessons that morning...at night we had one... well that's mission work for you!! we taught brother Jay Jay and it was a good lesson!!

Thursday we had to go to Santa Domingo for district conference cause or district leader went to Manila for immigration stuff! After that we taught Allen and Esposo both great lessons, but Esposo was still hard! and it was just a short easy day that ended in ice candy making!! very good!

Friday we did planning...for the sisters..meaning I couldn't do much other than fill out progress records. We did however teach 5 lessons in the afternoon and one was at the hospital.  We taught Jay Jay and he is starting to have a better understanding! and so we went to go teach Ushanin in the hospital.  His wife however lost a child...not born yet...but she was doing fine and was very happy to see us! She is an amazing woman!

Saturday was so fun!! I lead some lessons and also sung at another baptism! hahaha but other than that it was very slow.

Sunday.....I GAVE A TALK! on temporal well being and self reliance. It was good I hope! and after that we went teaching! with the branch president in his car!!! hahaha the things I miss are silly! hahaha well that was my week I miss you all!!!

Transfer Week...

So this week is transfer week...I'm not getting transferred but at the same time I am....The sister missionaries are going to new apartments in our area so they are giving them that area and we get their area. so yeah it  is hard...like we loose so many neat people but it's OK I trust the sisters.

I'm being made aware I'm not putting detail in my email...sorry. haha but for those who are wondering, my diet is pork, chicken, rice and veggies. Thanks to Elder Robles. I am in the city so a lot of people, like a lot, and they love Christmas. The city is getting crazy haha. My chapel is kinda new and is beautiful and I am in a branch haha few people. but its all good... I get McDonald's too so that's a plus. My area is more of the suburbs and it is great!! I love it so much!!

Anyway Monday I got a special treat!! BALLUT!! for those who don't know, it is a un-hatched chicken embryo and is actually really good!! First you drink the stuff and then peel the shell, pull it out, put salt and vinegar on it...again it is actually really good.. except Elder Miller's was to old...feathers and all... figured out why it has the name it does... that's the sound you make spitting it out. hahaha soo much fun!!

Tuesday was a great day. We had our investigator come fellowship with us at the sister who refereed him! so cool!! and after that we went to Tatay Esposo's house. He is an amazing man, and after that and after lunch he fellowshipped with us!!! and this Sunday he got the Melchizedek priesthood!! soo cool!!

Wednesday was a very hard day... the day where we are full of lessons but this day we had three..... man it was tough!

Thursday we had DM and that was so cool! but after we went to McDonald's and this guy from Africa asked us about our church. We had the chance to talk to him.. he nis born again Christian (in every mission you have a "rival" church ours is englasia christian but I find the hardest people to teach are the born again...but I digress) he was cool!

Friday we had ZTM and we then went to go out and teach...we went to the Ben family!!They have an awesome family but its a little mixed up.  But its OK the single sister is a teacher and cares for her cousin and some others, but every time we come over she says "hello kupatide!" SIBLING is what that means haha. She is awesome and her cousin is a recent convert!! I led the lesson with her. Luckily my kasamas moto is "with me you'll never do bad" hahaha he's the man! and we had a fellowshipper. He was glad to be with us cause without fail we get Pepsi and bread from this family!! so cool!! haha He then walks to his house with us and wanted just to talk!! What a great guy!!

Saturday was district conference and the APs came to train us. We had so much fun and I learned great things, but no teaching was done. I got a letter from my nieces and that made my week 4000000X better

Sunday another day of conference, but we also had interviews with president... Although they were short! they were meaningful and as usual I learned a lot.

Well I hope this letter was better and I hope all of you have a great week...this week will be crazy for me...  but I'll let you know! love you all

AY GRABE!!!

So the title in Tagalog is wow! that was my phrase this week!!

So this morning we went to the Santa Domingo beach to have a zone activity and it was epic!!! The sand here is black and they harvest it cause it is magnetic so crazy!!!

Anyway Tuesday of this week I went on exchanges with Elder Miller in Bantay  and it means hill......on a highway in the sun soooooo hot, but we had so much fun!!! He is the best!

Wednesday we were crowd control for an eye test thing at the church and that was way cool, but the ZLs came with mail...every letter my mom has emailed me now makes sense with that physical mail.

Thursday was district training and the ZLs came and helped with teaching. We had Elder Kabiling. He is so funny!!!

Friday we did planning and teaching. hahaha

Saturday was a hot day so crazy!!!! and we did a lot of work! but Friday I was told I was speaking in church but on Saturday they forgot it was primary program so I didn't speak.

Sunday our goal was 5 investigators at church....we had 6!! so cool!!! After we went to brother Allen's house...his Baptism date is DEC. 6 but he has a word of wisdom problem and he been doing great.  They all drink Milo and not coffee any more (Milo like Nesquick but it can be hot or cold!) he is 14 days sober and cutting back on cigs.... but they told us they want to push the date back...BAKIT!!...he had a good reason... he wanted to be 100% clean of WoW.  Oh man it was so cool and on Saturday Brother Allen fellowshipped with us to the sister who referred him!

So great!! well good week talk to you later

Happy All Saints Day

So I will get to the title, it's pretty great!

Tuesday we did a lot of finding and walking and some teaching. haha It was a rough day.
Oh and Monday night we were walking to an appointment and this guy drives by and yelled CRACKER and Elder Robles goes..."he not Filipino.." hahahah

Wednesday we went on exchanges. I went to Vigan 2 area and it was way hot all day. But on a more solid note I killed at teaching. It was so much fun haha and I learned so much!!! And out of all the weird things I got sun burnt. It's also cause this area is all highway.

Thursday we had training and after we studied and then we went out teaching. We taught some great lessons. One to a recent convert who is getting the Melchizedek priesthood soon!! And then a sister is also an RC who invited her friends....they are both like way solid and just loved our message so they are great and yeah.

Friday was a weird day...the day before All Saints Day and so it was a half day for work and school and so yeah! We taught an investigator about the Book of Mormon and he still has questions but so does every one else...weird thing though we got home and I was sooo tired... right after day review I fell asleep on the couch....oh man, idk why but I was just exhausted.

Saturday was All Saints Day.....soo All Saints Day is the day every one celebrates the dead. During the day it felt like a normal Saturday, but oh man night time came.. appt fell through, people everywhere, but one amazing thing happened. Elder Miller, who I am going on exchanges with, taught me this thing about family and using your hand. So we went to a less active, taught that and some other things and left....he showed up to church on Sunday with his family..... GRABE...that night we went to family home evening and it was good but we heard that a fellowshipper of ours, who reminds me of my Grandpa Tanner, was in the ICU and the word is he is kind of OK but he had a stroke, so we might see him or his family today. Sad. He's so funny

Sunday was a good Sunday. but later that day we had the privilege to watch an area conference with Dallin H Oaks!! great talk!!

well that's all folks

Much love Elder Tanner

Week of Greatness

So just like to start out by saying I harvested peanuts so that was way awesome!!!

Anyway so this week started out rough and we just did finding and no one would talk..boo so Thursday rolls around and I talk to the mission president about you know struggles I have been having here and he set me strait and that night we went to go teach and it was sooo great!!!

The reason I start on Thursday is because it was super great!! We taught some that night and the next day we were teaching and I was feeling great!! I just could feel the spirit go through me to testify to these people!!

Friday we went to go teach and you know same success I was talking and testifying and it was just so great!!! Then we went to one of our favorite places the Ben family! They live in a home where they are related but they have like cousins and stuff and the cousin is a recent convert and usually we go over and she is quiet and turns away.  So my kasama and I, we just talked about an object lesson....but with nothing in mind we just taught.  We got  there and she turned her chair closer to us and spoke louder....it was so great and her cousin testified of the Book of Mormon and had the girl (Jennifer) in tears it was so great and after we got bread and Pepsi....Filipino bread isn't just bread its like......AMAMZING

So Saturday the sisters had a baptism...we show up and my BML (branch mission leader) took me to the piano and said Elder Tanner can sing.....I sang a duet...at a baptism that was great but the duet was without piano. and it was "Our Savior's Love".... sooo good! haha I hope

Sunday was good, church was great! but after church we went teaching with our BML and Elders Quorum president.  We went to our Progressing investigator's house and got there and he was flying a kite..... we went over there and I saw ciggs on the ground.  He talked to my kasama and then our BML.  I asked Elder Robles what was happening he said we can not teach him..he is drunk.... oh man Satan...why do you have to be such a turd...its OK.... if singing has taught me one thing is "FEAR NOT FOR THE LORD IS ON YOUR SIDE" so yeah that was my week.

Long Week

This week was a success and very long!

We started it by teaching and finding!!! a lot of walking!!!

hahaha at the end of one day we met a man Brother Paul who is very interested in our church and loved coming hahaha

In total we had 4 investigators at church!!! we loved it!!! hahaha

We taught and walked and man did we have fun!!! this ward is so great!!!! and very good at fellowshipping our investigators

So the other night we went and taught Brother Allen about apostasy and the lesson went great!! After we went to a members house and had some treats and Pepsi....than they fed us dinner.....we were thankful because we had no food at home but we were out later than we would have liked to hahah

Sorry I didnt bring my journal so I cant remember what happened what day!!

All I know is I learned how to fry chicken and the work here is great!!!

One night we walked at least 3 and a half miles to get home... we did our stuff I took a shower and was in bed asleep by 10...with the district leader's OK cause he said if you've done everything you have to you can go to bed at 10

so great!!!

well I miss you all a lot!!!

love Elder Tanner

P.S. I learned how to wash my clothes by hands!! I said to myself the one song that comes to mind when I do this....Count Your Many Nlessings   hahaha so great

Monday, October 13, 2014

Well I am Here

So we got to Manila MTC and that was.......ehhhh.   We got treated poorly and it was wicked pointless but we went to the Quezon mission field and taught. I taught a girl named Love and she is getting baptized in 3 days!!!! exciting!!

OK so we flew to Laoag and took a van to the mission home, sat, learned about things, and then we learned who our trainer and area was.....,....I am in....VIGAN CITY and my trainer is ELDER ROBLES!! He a Filipino and is an amazing trainer!! Cool part about Vigan is down town looks like Spain!!!

So we spend the night at the mission home and took a 2 hour bus trip to our area....it's so amazing here. We got to the apartment and I learned that I'm staying with Elder Miller who was a roommate and was in my district at the MTC!! So that made me happy!! So we open the door and it was a pit.  The last elders sucked at cleaning!!! but technically they haven't been there enough for us to be technically OPENING THE AREA!!! the blind leading the blind.  So we had no food so we went to go eat and get groceries! and turns out Elder Robles can cook so we are thankful for that! so we get there and fun surprise no shower!!! People be thankful for what you have cause I take a shower with a ladle and a bucket of water.....don't feel bad for me... it's so fun!!! cause it's not warm water!!! hahaha I love the Philippines

So opening an area means a lot of finding....like finding out where our area is.....hahahha but we are lucky to have some great members, like 16 yr old show us whats up!!! so great!!! We have 3 investigators we have been teaching!! and my Tagalog is getting meh so yeah.  We take a Tryc to a place and walk!!! and walk and meet people in their homes.....they live in cinder block homes with metal roofs and dirt floors or concrete if they are lucky!!! They are so thankful for life!! I love it.

We taught a brother name Brother Allen and he's so great and makes things from clay!! He is very willing to learn but has concerns!! We also taught 3 girls and that was good, I did some talking!! so great!!

Conference weekend was so great!!! and my favorite talk was David A Bednard talking to the non members!!! every  one should hear that talk!!! hahah funny thing though we woke up, said prayers and the the fans turned off...no AC in apartment....so we were like, oh man, tried to turn on the light and got nothing...Brown OUT!!! (black out) crazy so the chapel had no AC for priesthood cause it came first but right as we came for Saturday morning it came on!!! yay!!! man I love it here!!!!

Well some fun facts about my mission.....I'm too tall for it!! hahaha I don't fit in Trycs hahaha and everything is too short!!!

Well that's my life!!! oh yeah vote Vigan as a 7 wonder of the world, sweet!

Well I'm not sure how to send pictures and no one here to help us! maybe next time

One last thing is my mission address for letters.....unfortunately I don't have a direct mail box but send to the mission home they get it to the zone leaders, he gets it to the district leader and I get it!! if you send a package....its cost 100P so be mindful of what you send I need junk hahaha

So Close....

So I am so close to busting out of this joint but it is the I want time to slow down so I can get better and better at the language!!!

Any way so this week was killer!!! remember I said we had Richard G Scott here last week. this week me had M Russell Ballard!!! What!!!!! 2 of the big 15 in two weeks crazy!!!!!

Well Sunday my kasama and I watched a devotional buy Jeffery R Holland,  if you don't know who Jeffery R Holland is he is pretty much like the best!! and really digs into your soul!!! and the best part he said "I hate when missionaries say this is a break from school and life and when they go home they say I cant wait to get back to real like... THIS IS REAL LIFE!!!"

and Monday was Monday

Tuesday was that devotional and it was the best one I saw since being here!!!!

Wednesday I got to host the new mga missyonaro and that was super awesome!!! I hosted this kid that was going to west campus.. so we had to wait for the bus and I got to know him!!! He is the youngest of three! and by the smell of his sister (pot) it was really amazing that he overcame that adversity of probably being tempted all the time by his siblings and come serve just so awesome!!!!

Thursday we had another Skype TRC and my kasama and I got the same sister as last time and it was so great and she said I talked more in Tagalog so pumped!!! but I'm still working!!!!

Friday was in field orientation!!! soooo close!!!

Yeah so that's life

So this week was good!!

So I promise I'm going to say more than three things.

Sunday was amazing an we had an even better devotional about the plan of salvation!!!! so spiritual and I got like great notes from it!!!

Monday....... well it was Monday

TUESDAY was epic!!! so we had class and then right after class I skipped dinner to go get in line for choir!! I made it and we sang "Be Still My Soul"... that wasn't even half!!! the reason every one wanted to sing was because it was sent to all the MTC in the world because the speaker was.....RICHARD G SCOTT!!! It was crazy epic!!!! It was about prayer and was so great but at the beginning he said " don't have a good mission... have a blast!!" that is so true!!!! I love the MTC!!!!

Wednesday was long and hard and ice cream day!!! love it!!!

So I have been at this MTC now for almost a month!! crazy!!!! word on the street is we get travel plans coming up soon!!! I love it here and can't believe its almost been a month!!!!

So as usual we went to the temple after emailing last week!!! so great!!! the more I go the more I learn!! always the best part of p-day!

Sunday we had regular church and than we went to church and it was testimony meeting and it was super amazing and like the best!! Then we had devotional and they stared out by saying "if a member of the 12 or first presidency come you stand"so Tuesday I ate dinner real fast got to choir and sat and sung and then like we were sitting there and saw who was speaking... Brother Sitati!!! not the big 15 but still up there on one of my favorite so far here!!!!

So same old stuff happened until Thursday. so every one was kind of sick and yeah so we have personal gym time on Thursday... so we did what any sick district would do... make a sauna!! and it totally worked!!! we covered the 6 shower stall with sheets and yeah.... best time ever. oh man!!! it felt amazing!!

Friday for me was a pretty great day!! I've been having trouble with the language can't really see my self speaking it any way we started doing the first vision and I think I said the first part about 1000 times!! and then it hit me I started getting it.  I started to see my self speaking it.  I just love it!!! and then we taught a lesson in Tagalog and it was so amazing and so crazy spiritual I loved it!!

so that"s my life!!

P.S.  so being here for as long as I am you learn silly things.... like every Wednesday is ice cream day...and some new missionaries but ICE CREAM!!! love it here.. that's all!!

I got that bug!!

So there is this stupid bug going around! and i got it!!! AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT!

So lets see, Saturday after I mailed we went to the temple and it was so much fun!! but the rest of the day was dinner and class! so yeah!

Sunday we had church i got a new calling! I'm not the sacrament coordinator. so I choose who blesses and passes sacrament. so that's fun!! I also found out that an elder who leaves in like 10 days has same birthday like year and all as I do so that is super cool!! Sunday night devotional is the best we had the brother Holzfeld I think... speak to us and man was it good!

Monday was labor day so that means no mail. but holy cow it was September first!! we did door approach practice and that was mabuti!! (good) so I've done this thing in my journal where as a confidence boost I say "love me" so that's my weird life

Tuesday was good!! devo Tuesday! but we also did TRC and that is like home teaching! it was hard but it was good too!! luckily my comp is pro!! so yeah and Elder Clark spoke to us!!!

Wednesday is ice cream day. and new arrival day........but also ice cream day.

Thurs.-Friday were usual 2 class Tagalog in my mouth kind of days!!!

so I got the wrong cord from my mom cause I asked for the wrong one but luckily an elder in my room had one but my computer is being dumb but I'll try another computer.

I swear when I get to the field these letters will be long!!!! just right now its a lot of class!!!

Where did this week and a half go!!!

I have gotten to the point to where all the days just melt together!!!!! But I guess that's good!!! The language is going so fun!!!! and I'm learning a fire hose amount of info!!!!
SO I'd like to start this letter with saying that you guys can always write me a letter my address is on my Facebook. Letters are greatly accepted just because it's like a boost to my already long and hard day!!!

NOW lets see where to start!! oh yeah, Saturday after I emailed we went to the temple! and man was it amazing (also biggest temple I've been in!) so yeah!! SUNDAYS here are amazing and fun and in Tagalog so half the time I'm not sure what's going on!! but we had a devotional that night and that was super amazing!!!!

MONDAY was a crazy day and a lot of anger was brought up in the district!! but good news we got it all worked out....Wednesday......so we were playing basketball in gym time and the craziest thing happened and a kid broke his nose!! had surgery yesterday!!!! so that was pretty crazy!!!

SO Tuesday through like Thursday was jammed full of studying and learning and all that crazy stuff!!!! Um but really nothing too exciting happened

I sung in the Tuesday night devotional!!!! we sang Jesus once a humble birth!! so cool!!!

So my comp and I have been teaching a sister named Beverly! and we got her to commit to baptism!!! and the feeling from that was so great and I just thought if a fake investigator feels this good to set that date imagine a real one!!!! and than we had a PLOT TWIST!!!! Our teacher now became our investigator and our investigator is now our teacher.... MIND BLOWN!!! so that was crazy frun!!!

I'm sorry I don't have more to say! or pictures to show but this week has been pretty not eventful....but I can tell you the highlight was my dearelder.com package I got from grandma tanner SOOOOO good!!!

Love you all!! have a great week

Until Owen can send pics here's another great one from

Kumasta po kayo!!!! pamilya and friends!

The first day was crazy and fast and exciting!! in the  MTC the language was very confusing! But day three and I'm starting to get it down! Not really I just like to think that!!!  My Companion is Elder Macarilay! (MACA-reliy) he is a great guy and has taught me a ton and I hope that I have taught him some things as well!! So my district has 10 guys and we are all going to the same mission and its pretty epic! I love them all!! An elder asked the teacher yesterday "how is it I've known theses guys for 3 days and I already love them more than my own family!" we are all supportive of each other and laugh with and at each other! Our teacher is Brother Cohan and from day one he was spoken Tagalog and says like English words kind of to help us but never all English!!

Thursday was still kind of hectic!! but we were getting it! we had a very long class time and then we watched a video of an investigator! He than told us you will be teaching Beverly in TAGALOG!! That was the scariest moments in my life!!!! But I'll get to that! That night we had a meeting with the branch president President Howard! Great man, really funny!!! Teaches us so much!! But at the meeting they had us all in my branch come up and talk about us. After that we had interviews for District leader!! Some of the guys said it was going to me but it wasn't! It was an amazing elder named Elder Huber! We are roommates with him and he is the greatest elder around!! In my journal that night I wrote MTC no BOBO ( stupid)

Friday we taught Beverly! it was ehhhhh ok I guess, I mean we forgot to say opening and closing prayer but it was great!!! haha I have never seen the gift of tongues so real until the investigator talked to my comp and he understood all words and spoke back!! AMAZING!!

Today is our first p-day and although laundry was so boring we did find out its a great time for language study!!! But we didn't today but next time right, I mean I do have Six weeks!!

Well I love you all and can't wait to hear from you and how you are doing!!! love you
